Singpore Denies That Its Currency Is Undervalued

MANILA —
Singapore Finance Minister Richard Hu says U.S. charges that his country’s currency is undervalued are political rhetoric and not backed by economic facts.
Hu, attending the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank, said Singapore began to run a trade surplus with the United States only towards the end of 1984.
