Two undocumented workers pleaded not guilty Wednesday to the rape of a 15-year-old girl in rural Poway.

Leonardo Cedillo Martinez, 23, of Poway and Guadalupe Cedillo Martinez, 18, of Ramona were both charged Wednesday with forcible rape in concert and rape with a foreign object.

San Diego Municipal Judge Janet Kintner set bail at $75,000, at the suggestion of Deputy Dist. Atty. Mike Przytulski.

Leonardo Cedillo Martinez was arrested Friday after the detention and questioning of 83 Latino men in the area by sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents.

Guadalupe Cedillo Martinez was arrested Tuesday in Poway. Przytulski said he had recently applied for legal residency under the amnesty program.

The girl was riding her horse on a trail near Midland and Old Poway roads April 24 when she reportedly was pulled from the saddle by a man after a group of seven males and one female blocked her path.

“One held her down and one raped her,” Przytulski said.

When asked if other arrests are expected, Przytulski would only say that the investigation is continuing.

Neither the defense attorney nor the prosecutor knew if the men, who share the same last name, are related.

Kintner set a preliminary hearing for May 18. Both men waived their right to a bail review through a Spanish-speaking interpreter.

When he was arrested, Leonardo Cedillo Martinez lived in a camper, and Guadalupe Cedillo Martinez lived in a motor home. Przytulski described them as undocumented workers and transients.
