Taha Leaving Bank

Share

Susan B. Taha is taking early retirement from her post as senior vice president and director of corporate communications at Security Pacific National Bank to, in her words, “chase some dreams, open an inn in Mexico, work for (Democratic presidential candidate Michael S.) Dukakis and go back to the Peace Corps.”

Taha, one of the first women elected senior vice president at a major bank, spent 11 years at Security Pacific’s Los Angeles headquarters. She had worked six years for Bank of America and spent many years with the United Nations and the Peace Corps.

Taha’s chief responsibility at Security Pacific was providing information to journalists and she won high marks for straight-forward answers. Her last big task was fielding questions stemming from plans to close 40 to 60 branches.
