Share

The Orange County Fire Department welcomes county residents to participate in this year’s Fire Service Recognition Day activities Saturday.

A tradition established by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968, Fire Service Recognition Day focuses public attention on the skills and services provided by fire departments across the nation. These include suppression and investigation of residential, commercial, industrial, aircraft, vehicle and wild-land fires; rescue and paramedic services; fire safety inspections; checking of plans for new buildings; public service programs, and programs to abate hazardous conditions.

At the event, the Orange County Fire Department and other civic groups will acknowledge outstanding members of the department for their contributions and dedication to the fire service and citizens of Orange County.
