In a protest over the possibility of normalized relations between the United States and Cuba, about 6,000 Cuban exiles waving the Cuban flag and singing their homeland’s national anthem marched through the Little Havana section of Miami. Cuban-American leaders say they feel betrayed by secret meetings of U.S. and Cuban officials last year that resulted in a renewed immigration pact. The leaders say such discussions legitimize the Castro regime and could be a move toward formal ties between the two countries. Organizers said more protests will be held unless the U.S. government changes its position.
