A man suspected of kidnaping a Mesa, Ariz., woman and bringing her to San Diego was arrested early Monday, police said.

Elizabeth Cummings, 62, told police she was abducted Thursday by Frank Doering, 45, a man she had been dating on and off for a year.

Police said Doering went to Cummings’ Mesa home, took her 9-millimeter handgun, and forced her to withdraw $300 from her bank account. Later in the weekend, he forced her to pack some of her things and drive him to San Diego, they said.
