Cushman Electronics posted a profit of $143,000 for the second quarter ended March 31, contrasted with a net loss of $186,000 a year ago. Sales totaled $1.1 million, down from net sales for the year-earlier quarter of $1.9 million. The company said $950,000 of the 1987 figure was attributable to discontinued products. For the six months, the company earned $235,000, contrasted with a loss of $150,000 a year earlier. Net sales were $2.4 million, a drop from sales of $3.8 million for the comparable period a year ago. Discontinued products accounted for nearly $1.8 million of the 1987 figure. Cushman Electronics, with headquarters in Newport Beach, manufactures radio test and maintenance equipment and telephone test instruments.
