Local News in Brief : Man, 84, Dies in Jail Cell
An 84-year-old man booked for investigation of felony drunken driving died in his Parker Center jail cell from unknown causes, police said.
The man, whose name was withheld, had been treated for a head cut before being booked at the downtown Los Angeles facility, said Police Lt. William Hall.
The dead man was discovered as jailers made their rounds Sunday. He hadn’t been involved in any altercations with police or other inmates, Hall said. An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death.
