Compton : Liquor License Moratorium
Fearing that Compton is being inundated by businesses that sell alcoholic beverages, the City Council has unanimously approved a 90-day moratorium on accepting license applications from stores wishing to sell beer and wine.
The council asked city administrators to prepare a study on the number of liquor stores in the city and their density in certain parts of town. Businesses that currently sell alcoholic beverages will not be affected.
