McCormick & Co., Baltimore, the world’s largest spice maker, says it has reached an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission allowing the company to proceed with its planned bid to purchase the Spice Islands line of spices, herbs and vinegars from Specialty Brands of San Francisco for $56 million . . . Rolodex a subsidiary of Insilco announced the acquisition of Curtis Manufacturing of Jaffrey, N.H. Curtis is a recognized leader in computer accessories, and Rolodex is the premier marketer of rotary and flat files, card files and telephone list finders . . . Idaho Department of Insurance Director Anthony J. Fagiano set May 31 as the date for hearings to begin on Batus’ proposal to acquire control over Farmers Insurance of Idaho, an affiliate of Los Angeles-based Farmers Group.
