The Federal Aviation Administration says the joint use of El Toro Marine Air Station in Orange County by commercial airliners and military aircraft is “technically feasible.” The FAA comments were made in a report to Congress that was made public. The report stopped short of recommending joint use of the airport. The Marines and Navy oppose sharing the facility with commercial travelers, arguing that it would impinge on the airport’s use for training.
