Former USC basketball coach Bob Boyd, who also coached at Seattle University and Mississippi State, is expected to come out of retirement and take the Riverside Community College job for one season, school officials said Thursday.

Boyd, 57, will announce his decision at a press conference today, a college spokesman said.

Boyd, who lives in Palm Desert, retired from coaching at Mississippi State in 1985. He would fill in for David Waxman, who has been granted a sabbatical leave.
