Woman Kidnaped While Leaving Encinitas Office

Two men kidnaped a 22-year-old woman Thursday evening as she was leaving a real estate office in Encinitas, sheriff's deputies said Friday.

Ginger Kay Brown of Carlsbad was leaving Sun Harbor Realty in the 1300 block of Encinitas Boulevard shortly before 5 p.m. when the two grabbed her and forced her into a waiting white van behind an Alpha Beta store, said Sgt. Susan Hatcher, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Department.

Witnesses said Brown struggled to get away from the men, according to Hatcher. Her purse was found at the scene, Hatcher said, adding that deputies know of no motive for the abduction. Brown was still missing late Friday.
