Schwartz Gets Fourth Straight Scratch Main Win
Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 4,194 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
It was Schwartz’s fourth straight main event victory and his fifth in seven weeks.
Alan Christian of Huntington Beach, who finished second Friday night, set the track record of 11 straight in 1981.
In the handicap main, Shawn McConnell of Brea won, Billy Hamill of Monrovia was second and Trinion Cirello of Newport Beach was third.
