The founder of Entrepreneur magazine has pleaded no contest to being an ex-convict in possession of a gun. In exchange for the plea, perjury and bomb-related charges were dropped.

John Leonard Burke, 50, who was convicted more than 20 years ago of two bank robberies and three attempted bank robberies in Houston and Las Vegas, entered his plea in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Also known as Chase Revel, Burke was charged after investigators who searched his Pacific Palisades home in August, 1986, found a pistol and the materials for making pipe bombs. He remains free on bail pending sentencing, which is scheduled for July 8.
