A California National Guard helicopter on a training mission crashed into Folsom Lake and sank in 75 feet of water, but the five crewmen aboard swam to safety, officials said. The UH-1 Huey helicopter was hovering about 25 feet above the lake, 15 miles east of Sacramento, lifting an unoccupied one-man raft out of the water when the accident occurred, said Steve Mensik, National Guard public affairs officer.
