UCI’s Cresswell to Transfer to Washington State
UC Irvine guard Chris Cresswell, who was suspended from the team for disciplinary reasons during the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. tournament, said he will transfer to Washington State.
“I wasn’t good enough to play here,” Cresswell said. “We’ll see if I’m good enough to play there.”
Cresswell, who is 6-feet 3-inches tall, averaged 2 points in 20 games as a freshman. He will sit out next season and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Steve Florentine, who was suspended with Cresswell, said he may stay at Irvine and play volleyball. Florentine, a 6-7 forward, averaged 3 points and a rebound in 22 games as a sophomore last season. He played an average of 10 minutes a game and started 5 times.
