Share

Police are seeking the public’s help in their search for a 10-year-old boy missing since Tuesday.

William Hugo, who has run away from home before, was last seen leaving Paine Elementary School in Garden Grove, Westminster Police Officer Tom Broderson said.

In the past, the boy has always returned home within a day, Broderson said. On Thursday, the parents contacted police, who began distributing a description of the child in flyers near the school and in his neighborhood.

William, who lives with his parents in the 15600 block of Brookhurst Street in Westminster, is about 5 feet tall with black hair and brown eyes, Broderson said. He weighs 56 pounds. The Samoan youth was wearing a long-sleeve, yellow T-shirt, gray pants and dark blue tennis shoes when he left school Tuesday.

The boy’s parents recently had discussed sending him to live with his grandparents in Samoa and that may have upset him, Broderson said.

Anyone who may have seen the child is asked to call Westminster police at (714) 898-3311.
