Kilroy Long Beach Airport Center Starts 2nd Phase

Following a first phase that is 98% leased, Kilroy Industries has launched the second phase of the $250-million, 52-acre Kilroy Airport Center/Long Beach at Lakewood Boulevard and the San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach.

The $85-million second phase of the business park at the Long Beach Airport is scheduled for completion in August, 1989, and will consist of more than 400,000 square feet of office space in two buildings: An eight-story building with 228,600 square feet and a six-story structure with 171,300 square feet.

The architect is Harwood K. Smith & Partners, Dallas, and the general contractor is Dinwiddie Construction Co. The first phase, anchored by Douglas Aircraft Co., includes a three-story, 129,300-square-foot building and a two-story, 97,300-square-foot one.

When Kilroy Airport Center is completed, its nine buildings will have a total of 1.25 million square feet of office space.
