Balfour 4th Twice in Gymnastics Meet

One day after her club won the Region I team title, Hana Balfour of Northridge finished fourth in two events in the all-around championships at the regional gymnastics meet Saturday in Santa Rosa.

Balfour, a member of the Gymnastics Olympica club of Van Nuys, was fourth in both the uneven bars and the floor exercise.

Both Balfour and Gymnastics Olympica qualified for the U. S. Assn. of Independent Gymnastic Clubs national championships, to be held June 12-14 in Greenwell, S. C.

The top finishers for the club in the team event were Amee Rusche of Simi Valley, Rebecca Chiprut of Los Angeles and Kelly Webster of North Hollywood.

Gymnastics Olympica scored 172.60 points to beat the Los Altos Twisters (163.90) for the team title Friday.
