A Little League treasurer drove out of Gatlinburg, Tenn., with $37,000 in club funds, leaving behind a string of bad debts and bounced checks and 200 broken-hearted kids, distraught club officials said.

Gatlinburg Little League Boosters Club President Ernie Schultz said he was surprised to find Bobbi Sanor had skipped with the money, describing her as “a friendly, energetic woman.”

There is a warrant for Sanor’s arrest, charging she bilked the club’s fund, leaving the organization no way to pay its bills.

Schultz’s wife, Rhonda, cheerleading director for the club, said she believes Sanor left town about two weeks ago when questions arose about overdue bills that should already have been paid.

“I guess she took us for a bunch of ignorant hillbillies,” Rhonda Schultz said.
