New York investor Saul P. Steinberg said a committee of Tiger International directors has interviewed eight people for the job of chairman and chief executive of the Los Angeles parent of Flying Tiger. The job has been vacant since Stephen M. Wolf resigned last December to join United Airlines. Steinberg declined to identify the candidates, but said the selection process was about half over. Steinberg, a Tiger director, said he wasn’t “doing anything” with his 18.8% stake in Tiger, but declined comment on speculation that the air cargo carrier was for sale.
