Energy Commissioner Sousa Resigns

Anthony Sousa has resigned as a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to accept a Justice Department position in San Francisco, the commission said Friday.

Sousa, 60, will be the bankruptcy trustee for Nevada and Northern and Eastern California.

His second term on the energy commission would have expired in October, but he will leave July 31 and take up the San Francisco appointment Aug. 1.

Sousa is a former vice president and general counsel of Hawaiian Telephone Co. and a former counsel and administrative law judge at the California Public Utilities Commission.
