Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Infant Boy Found Dead at Bottom of Home Pool
An 18-month-old boy drowned Monday in the pool of his family’s home, a police spokesman said.
Lt. Jack Nelson said Viet Le was found at the bottom of the family pool in the 700 block of Shawnee Drive at 9:25 a.m. by his father, who had noticed the child missing. The father dove into the pool and retrieved the body, Nelson said.
Police officers Greg Elcantra and Oliver Rant, who were summoned to the residence, administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation until paramedics arrived. The boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, Nelson said.
