Afghan President Najibullah ordered the release of an Italian free-lance journalist jailed for the past 6 1/2 months on spy charges, according to both the Italian Foreign Ministry and official Kabul Radio. The radio report, monitored in Islamabad, Pakistan, and confirmed by Italian officials, said that Najibullah pardoned Fausto Biloslavo, 26, after receiving an appeal from Italian President Francesco Cossiga. The move follows a visit to Kabul, the Afghan capital, by Italian Foreign Ministry official Bruno Bottai. Italian officials said they expect Biloslavo to be freed today.
