Garrow, Farrow and Melville Named to U.S. Tennis Assn. National Team

Brian Garrow, a UCLA sophomore who was part of the national championship doubles team and a runner-up in singles, has been named to the 1988 U.S. National Team, the United States Tennis Assn. announced Thursday.

Also named to the team were Buff Farrow of UCLA, Scott Melville of USC, Jeff Tarango and Martin Blackman of Stanford, Malivai Washington and Dan Goldberg of Michigan, Al Parker of Georgia and Greg Van Emburgh of Kentucky.

Garrow teamed with Patrick Galbraith to win the doubles, and his second-place performance in the singles earned him All-America honors in both singles and doubles.

The team will travel with USTA coaches to selected events on the USTA Satellite Circuit, USTA Challenger Series and Grand Prix tours.
