Norway Turned Down on Kill of 35 Whales

WELLINGTON, New Zealand —
The International Whaling Commission on Friday rejected a Norwegian proposal to kill 35 whales in the North Atlantic for scientific purposes.
Delegates at the end of the whaling commission’s annual meeting said Japanese plans for coastal whalers to kill 210 whales by the end of September would be considered by the commission in two months.
