A Westminster man was booked for investigation of murdering his former girlfriend, whose body was found buried in the desert near Victorville, authorities said. Gerald Bishop Jr., 22, was arrested Saturday, the same day the body of Marina Garcia, 23, was found in the Bell Mountain area, police said. Garcia, of Huntington Beach, was reported missing by her parents Friday after she had failed to show up for work in Anaheim, police said. Los Angeles County authorities declined to release additional details or indicate what linked Bishop to the slaying.
