Picketts Powers Sox Past Valley Dodgers
Billy Picketts’ three home runs spearheaded a 17-hit attack that powered the Chicago White Sox rookie team over the Valley Dodgers, 11-6, Tuesday in a nonleague semipro baseball game at Cal State Northridge.
The game was called after eight innings because of darkness.
Picketts, who played for College of the Canyons last season, was 4 for 4 and scored five runs. All three home runs came with the bases empty.
The White Sox rookies pounded four Dodger pitchers, including Chris Spears, Rick Torres, Brian Chandler and John Bryant.
