Local News in Brief : Search to Begin Upon Resignation
The Carson City Council voted 4 to 1 Tuesday to begin looking for a replacement for City Administrator Dick Gunnarson when his resignation becomes effective June 30. At the same time the council appointed Deputy City Administrator Bill McKown to serve as acting city administrator when Gunnarson leaves.
Councilwoman Sylvia Muise opposed the motion, and said later that the interviewing and recruiting should begin immediately. A year ago, Muise voted against Gunnarson’s appointment, saying the city had not conducted a search before hiring him.
