Damon Corp. received an offer valued at more than $30 a share from Ballantrae Partners LP and American Magnetics Corp. Damon, of Needham Heights, Mass., which runs the last large independent network of clinical laboratories, has about 10 million shares outstanding, making the bid worth about $300 million. Ballantrae and American Magnetics together hold 9.9% of Damon. They disclosed the stake late last month.
