Warmth, Clear Skies Forecast for the Weekend

San Diegans can expect warm weather and clear skies, perfect for many outdoor activities, through the weekend.

Although the sun will be out, National Weather Service forecaster Wilbur Shigehara said it may be too cool for sunbathing on the coast.

“Summer is just around the corner, June 20, and we can expect typical June weather over the weekend,” Shigehara said. “Sunshine during the day, but late-night and early-morning low clouds. June is normally the cloudiest month in the year.”

A deep, low-pressure system off the coast blew in a cool wind earlier this week, but, with pressure weakening, forecasters said San Diegans can expect warmer temperatures through Sunday.

Beaches are expected to be in the 67-to-70-degree range today, cooling slightly Saturday and Sunday. Coastal highs are expected to range from 69 to 74 degrees, with overnight lows of 54 to 62.

The inland valleys are to have highs this weekend of 75 to 83, dropping to lows of 45 to 55.

Mountains and deserts are supposed to get localized westerly winds of 15 to 25 m.p.h. during the afternoon. Highs in the mountains will reach 75 to 82, cooling drastically to lows of 35 to 45.
