Mimi Kuzyk plays housemother to eight student nurses in “Nightingales,” a TV movie for NBC about young women training for a career in health care. It’s due to be broadcast June 27. Others in the cast are Susan Walters, Britta Phillips, Chelsea Field, Kristy Swanson, Neith Hunter, Galyn Gorg, Larry Poindexter and Reed Rudy.

Howard Hesseman and Ed Marinaro play detectives investigating a $12-million jewel heist in “The Great Diamond Robbery,” a TV movie that will turn up on CBS next season. Brooke Shields portrays a suspect in the case and Twiggy will play an investigator from Scotland Yard.

Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr. (“An Officer and a Gentleman”)and Chad Allen of NBC’s “Our House” will star in a three-part series for KCET Channel 28 about the dangers of drug abuse. The production, called “Straight Up,” is aimed at 9- to 12-year-olds. Allen plays a youngster considering using drugs; Gossett is the operator of a magical “fate elevator” who shows him what could happen if he does.
