Malaysian officials are angry over claims that a TV crew from a Japanese game show insulted natives of a remote jungle area of Borneo by having them act like headhunters and crawl and howl like dogs. The Malaysian news agency Bernama reported Tuesday that the incident in Sabah state angered Muruts, the indigenous population, and has prompted a government investigation. Kadoh Agundong, Sabah state’s culture minister, said the crew--from the TV quiz show “Naruhodo The World”--should not have asked the Muruts to act as headhunters because they had long abandoned that practice.
