WASHINGTON — Mari Maseng, the press secretary to Sen. Bob Dole’s unsuccessful campaign for GOP presidential nomination, will replace Tom Griscom as White House director of communications and planning, it was announced today.
Griscom will leave the White House on June 30, returning to private life after 16 months of service. His job was to oversee the speech-writing staff, draw up long-range agendas for the President and plan special events, such as the superpower summits last December in Washington and earlier this month in Moscow.
