Local News in Brief : Police Seeking Couple in Possible Kidnaping
Burbank police were searching Friday night for a young couple who may have been abducted from a house where they worked as housekeepers for an elderly couple.
Missing are Constantin Cirdei, 27, and his wife, Violeta Cirdei, 24, Lt. Joe Latta said.
“There was obvious evidence that there had been some type of struggle or confrontation in the house,” Latta said. It was also not clear if the elderly couple had been found, he said.
A neighbor called police after the couple’s 1-year-old daughter was found wandering in the neighborhood in the 200 block of Sunset Canyon Drive about 1 p.m., Latta said. The child has been placed in protective custody.
A red 1984 Datsun 200SX also was missing from the residence, Latta said.
Latta described Constantin Cirdei as white with brown hair, blue eyes, standing 5-8 and weighing about 130 pounds. His wife was described as white with brown hair, blue eyes, standing 5-3 and weighing about 145 pounds.
“This is not only a who-done-it, but a what-happened,” Latta said.
