Escort Service Owner Is Arrested
After a six-month prostitution investigation, police on Friday arrested the owner of the Miss Adventures Escort Service of Anaheim and 11 women working there.
The investigation began when the escort service was sold to its current owner, who sought to become a client of a credit-card processing company in the Midwest. The company was being operated as an investigative tool by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
Local authorities were notified by the Iowa agency, and police from Los Angeles, Brea and Anaheim used a large-scale sting operation in which they posed as potential escort service clients.
The owner, Leo Laptung Tam, 31, of Brea, was arrested and later released Friday on $25,000 bail.
