Two men serving life prison terms were recaptured after a predawn chase by bloodhounds, leaving five inmates still at large after a breakout from a maximum-security prison in Eddyville, Ky. But the recapture of escapees Leo Spurling and Floyd Cook left prison officials with “no hot leads” as to the whereabouts of the remaining escapees, said prison spokesman Jack Wood. A third inmate was recaptured Friday. Wood said prison guards would continue searching the countryside around the century-old Kentucky State Penitentiary until there was some indication that the other five inmates had left the area.
