Detectives probing the so-called Green River murders in Seattle are interested in a San Diego murder case that involves the slayings of 32 prostitutes, the Seattle Times reported. Members of the Green River Task Force were aware of the similarities between the two strings of murders, leading to speculation that the so-called Green River killer may have moved south, the newspaper said. The Green River killer is believed responsible for 40 murders of young women, most of whom were last seen in an area frequented by prostitutes. The San Diego murders began in 1985--about a year after the Green River crimes appeared to have stopped. “I need to know if their killer is our killer,” said task force commander Robert Evans. “They have a victim profile that is very interesting to us. I will be immensely interested in that case until they solve it because that’s the only way we’ll know for sure whether the cases are related.”
