House Votes to Name Building for Dr. King

WASHINGTON —
The House approved legislation Monday to rename a newly renovated federal building in Atlanta in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the civil rights leader who was assassinated 20 years ago.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) was approved by a voice vote in the House. It now goes to the Senate, where favorable action would make the federal annex the first federal building in the nation to bear King’s name.
