Man Dies as Bomb He Was Building Explodes

MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico —
An American died Monday from a high-powered bomb that exploded while he was assembling it near several U.S. companies and banks, police said. A Cuban accomplice also was wounded.
Police said they had no apparent explanation for the bomb and were waiting to interrogate the survivor, who was reported in stable condition. FBI agents also were called to investigate the explosion.
