I appreciate J. Michael Kennedy’s sympathetic coverage of Libertarian Ron Paul’s presidential campaign (“Libertarian Plods On--Alone and Unheard,” Part I, May 10).

The so-called “eclectic” stances cited in the platform are consistent with the party’s principles of freedom from governmental intrusion into the lives of citizens, a return to free-market economics, and letting other wealthy nations pay for their own defense. I support the notion that private charities and private schools do a better job than governmentally funded programs--for a lot less money.
