AIDS awareness has penetrated the People’s Republic of China, where the disease is practically unknown. A Peking studio has begun shooting “AIDS Patient,” a feature film about a foreigner with AIDS. It portrays an AIDS-stricken teacher’s deathbed confession of his relationships with three Chinese women while working in the country, the China New Service reported. The news service said the feature film, which began filming last week, would “raise matters of moral behavior and social responsibility” and spread anti-AIDS propaganda. China in 1987 introduced compulsory blood tests for long-term foreign residents.
