Arcadia : Board Expels 5 Students
The Arcadia Unified School District school board has expelled until January five students who were arrested last month on drug charges.
After an investigation by an undercover police officer, the students--four 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old--were charged with possession and sale of marijuana, LSD and cocaine.
The board’s action last week followed the recommendations of a disciplinary panel that investigated the cases.
The severity of the board’s action, School Supt. Stephen Goldstone said, “is designed to indicate to the students involved and all other students that we will not tolerate either the sale of or the possession and use of any drugs on our high school campus or any of our campuses.”
