Dick Fontaine has been named president and chief executive at B. Dalton Software etc., a chain of retail software stores with headquarters in Minneapolis. Fontaine, 46, is an executive with Michael’s Stores Inc., a Dallas-based specialty retailer. He is a former president of B. Dalton Bookseller. Software etc., formerly a division of B. Dalton Bookseller, became a separate company of BDB Corp. last November. Fontaine is its first CEO.
