Choritzo Wins Feature at Hollywood Park
Irish-bred Choritzo, making her U.S. debut at the longest distance of her career, took the lead with a sixteenth of a mile to go and drew off for a 1 1/2-length victory Friday in the featured eighth race at Hollywood Park.
Trained by Darrell Vienna and ridden at 114 pounds by Eddie Delahoussaye, the 4-year-old filly covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 1/5 and paid $21.80, $10.40 and $5.20. Marion’s Courage returned $11.20 and $4.80, and favored Glamorous Beau paid $2.80 to show, another 2 1/2 lengths behind.
