PAGING LINDA RONSTADT: Talk about a career move. Steve Miller has gone from a space cowboy to a supper-club crooner on his new album, “Born to Be Blue,” which is due out next month on Capitol Records. In addition to the Mel Torme co-written title cut, it features Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child,” Ray Charles’ “Mary Ann,” Lionel Hampton’s “Red Top,” “The Song of the South’s” “Zippity Doo Dah,” Johnny Mathis’ “When Sunny Gets Blue” and “Willow Weep for Me.” . . . Here’s a clip for MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball. Romina Danielson (you probably know her better as the Passion Flower who fainted at Joan Collins’ divorce trial) has just shot her first video--called (what else) “Passion.” Better still, get a load of her co-star--Johnny Buss, son of Lakers owner Jerry Buss. (Also featured in the clip will be Chico Ross, brother of (yes) Diana Ross. The clip will promote her single of the same name, which is due out in July on Danielson’s custom label, Crimes of Passion, which is being distributed by Sutra Records. . . . And how’s this for a band--when Iggy Pop arrives at the Whiskey July 8 (he’ll be at Scream July 9), his backing group will feature ex-Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy, Psychedelic Furs drummer Paul Garisto and UK Subs bassist Alvin Perry.
