Joe Hunt, former “Billionaire Boys Club” leader and a convicted killer, has filed a $7-million slander and invasion of privacy suit against NBC, claiming its TV miniseries on his murderous group falsely portrayed him.

The lawsuit, which Hunt filed from Folsom Prison, names NBC, the show’s production company and eight individuals involved in the miniseries. The allegations were revealed in court documents Friday.

Hunt was convicted of killing Beverly Hills con man Ronald Levin in April, 1987, and sentenced in July to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He tried unsuccessfully in federal court last fall to block the November broadcast of the miniseries, “The Billionaire Boys Club,” which starred actor Judd Nelson.

Hunt contends in the suit that the miniseries gave the false impression that he also was convicted of killing Hedayat Eslaminia, the father of a BBC member. Hunt awaits trial on Eslaminia’s murder in Northern California.

NBC attorney Rex Heinke said Friday that the suit has no merit.
