As a resident of the Santa Maria Valley, I read with great interest your article “Uneasy Neighbors.”
We who are among this group have been aware for several years that our county and state officials have become very adept at “passing the buck” where this toxic dump is concerned. Many of us have become convinced that our beautiful portion of California will one day be uninhabitable because of continued contamination of our water and the sickening smells which emanate from this dump.
Our lives and our homes are being compromised because of greed.
