Commandos Get Whale of a Scare
Okkie, a 12-foot baby killer whale that has “adopted” an oil rig, forced an elite group of British marine commandos to abandon a secret anti-terrorist training mission in the North Sea.
Startled men of the Special Boat Squadron, on exercise near the Brae Alpha oil rig 150 miles off Scotland, turned their boat around and sped off when Okkie surfaced alongside.
Oil men believe that 18-month-old Okkie, who loves to chase the rig’s supply boat and turn somersaults in its wake, has been orphaned and has decided to stay near the rig and the schools of fish that shelter there.
